Lodges & Camps in the Masai Mara

Bateleur Camp
Bateleur Camp is situated on the border of the Masai Mara National Reserve in south-western Kenya. Set on a private concession leased from Masai landlords, the camp lies at the base of the Oloololo escarpment and is fringed by riverine forest just below the spot where “Out of Africa’s” most famous scene was shot.

Kitcwa Tembo Tented Camp
Kichwa Tembo Tented Camp is situated on the border of the Masai Mara National Reserve in southwestern Kenya. Set on a private concession leased from Masai landlords, the camp lies at the base of the Oloololo escarpment and is fringed by riverine forest just below the spot where “Out of Africa’s” most famous scene was shot.

Mara Camp
Mara Camp is located on the Koyiaki Group Ranch adjoining the Masai Mara National Reserve. It is here, on the Masai Mara - the "spotted land" of the Masai people, that the greatest migration on the planet takes place . Every year, driven by a force man cannot comprehend, two million wildebeest, interspersed by herds of zebra, cross the Mara River from Tanzania to eat the lush grass resulting from the seasonal "long rains" in Kenya.

Governor’s Camp ..picture gallery
Governor’s Camp is situated on the Mara River in the Masai Mara Game Reserve, Kenya. A century ago this camp was reserved, exclusively, for Kenya’s colonial Governors and their royal visitors. Now Governors’ Camp nestles in the forest along the winding banks of the Mara River, it’s waters teeming with hippo and crocodile. Some of the 38 tents line the riverbank, with uninterrupted views over the Mara River and others have views across the sweeping plains.

Little Governor’s Camp..picture gallery
The Camp that Africa’s old hands swear by, Little Governors’ casts its spell over all who visit from honeymooning couples to Presidents. "Our favourite camp in the Mara" according to the guide ‘Kenya’s Best’. Getting here is an adventure in itself, you first have to cross the Mara River by boat, then walk a short distance, escorted by armed guards, through the forest. Intimate in character, there are just 17 tents tucked around a large watering-hole that teems with animal and bird life.

Governor’s IL Moran Camp..picture gallery
Deep in the forest, under ancient trees, an atmosphere of the original hunting camps were created with ten luxury tents that line the banks of the Mara River. This is the camp for those who want that extra bit of luxury. With only ten tents, the camp was kept as small as possible. You’ll be the personal guest of the camp manager, who’ll look after all your needs.

Governor’s Private Camp..picture gallery
This is the jewel in the Governors’ Camp crown and meant for those who want an exclusive taste of the Governors’ experience.
Governor’s Private Camp can only be booked by one family or group at a time and therefore up to 16 people have, to themselves, a beautiful bend of the Mara River. A spot was picked where animals come to drink, hippo laze in the shallows and elephant bring their calves for a playful dip.

Cottars 1920's Camp..picture gallery
Cotars 1920's is located on 22 000 private acres in the Masai Mara and returns guests to the original essence of safari. It is reminiscent of a bygone era of romance, adventure and elegance. Richard's Camp
Richard’s Camp is situated in a conservation area North West of The Masai Mara Game Reserve. With riverine forest and short grass plains, this area is renown for the most exceptional big game viewing worldwide. Originally built as a family home whilst carrying out conservation work in the Masai Mara, Richard’s Camp is a small and exclusive tented camp where the pioneer traditions of hospitality and comfort continue.

Elephant Pepper Camp
Situated right on the Northern Edge of the Maasai Mara reserve this 8-tented bush camp, is tucked away in a prime wildlife area. Surrounded by the Mara’s ubiquitous game, it’s a seasonal camp, which is taken down for a month or so in the rainy seasons.

Saruni Safari Camp

Royal Mara Camp
The Royal Mara is located in the western Koyiaki conservation area of the Masai Mara, on a peninsula in the popular “Hippo Bend Lagoon" section of the Mara River. The lodge is within a few miles drive of the world famous migration river crossing points of “Koyiaki-Kichwa” and "Mara Serena" as well as the leopard hangout at “Leopard Gorge”, highlighted on the BBC “Big Cat Diary” program.
