This
park is situated south of Nairobi bordering Tanzania. The real
attraction of this 390km2 park is the spectacular backdrop of
Mount Kilimanjaro.
The park is surrounded by a game reserve and together cover 3260km2
and average an altitude of 1190m. Elephant and giraffe are easily
found, and watching them as they pass in front of majestic Mt.
Kilimanjaro is a sight to behold. Large herds of elephant and
buffalo are often seen around the swamps where it is easy to obtain
photos of animals in the foreground and Mt. Kilimanjaro in the
background.
There are at least five upmarket-to-luxurious lodges in and around
Amboseli. Our choice is Tortillis Camp.
