THE PARKS OF BOTSWANA SAFARI
15 days & 14 nights wild botswana

This safari boasts a diverse itinerary ranging from the remarkable Makgadikgadi salt pans, the Kalahari wilderness areas, the Okavango Delta to three of Botswana's prime wildlife reserves, and a dramatic finale at Victoria Falls.
DAY 1 & 2: MAKGADIKGADI PANS NATIONAL PARK
We depart from Maun at 08h00 this morning to the unique and fascinating salt Pans of the Makgadikgadi. With its Palm trees and Riverine woodlands - there is some spectacular scenery, and breathtaking sunsets. Game is richly diverse due to the fertile grasslands. The area is known for its good birding. Our two nights are spent camping near the Khumaga area.
DAY 3 & 4: CENTRAL KALAHARI GAME RESERVE
We continue to our campsite in Deception Valley, via Tsoe and Rakops. The Valley is an ancient riverbed meandering between wooded dunes across the Central Kalahari Game Reserve. The riverbed supports a great diversity of fauna and flora and we explore this fragile ecosystem along a great length of its course. Numbers of oryx may be feeding along the way. We could also encounter lion, leopard, brown hyena, giraffe, wildebeest, hartebeest, jackal, bat-eared fox and various other species. Not really the quantity but rather the environment in which they are found is so intriguing. Raptors such as blackshouldered kites, kestrels and eagles abound while marsh owls are often seen after the rains. Many topics are discussed around the fire at night and comradeship forms an integral part of this unique experience.
DAY 5: DECEPTION VALLEY LODGE
Today we leave the Central Kalahari and travel to Deception Valley Lodge, which is situated on a private concession, bordering the Reserve. Our stay here allows us to enjoy a night drive, where we have a good chance of encountering some of the fascinating nocturnally active wildlife.
DAY 6 & 7: OKAVANGO DELTA
This morning we enjoy an early morning activity, before returning overland to Maun, for our scenic flight into the Okavango Delta where we camp at our exclusive campsite on a private concession (complete with camp staff) and explore the Okavango by mokoro (dug-out canoe) and powerboat. The evening meal is prepared under a canopy of trees while around us the sounds of the night are now quite different - thousands of frogs forming a noisy, yet soothing backdrop. We rise with the dawn and explore the floodplains on foot and by mokoro. Depending on game concentrations we could expect to find lechwe, kudu, buffalo, reedbuck and many other species. The flora too provides a fascinating glimpse into the intricate ecology of the Delta. During the hot hours of the day the possibility of a swim presents itself.
DAYS 8 & 9: MOREMI WILDLIFE RESERVE
We continue by light aircraft to Khwai, tucked into the north eastern sector of the Okavango. The Reserve was set-aside in 1963 by the Batawana tribe, and is rated as Africa's most beautiful wildlife sanctuary. Our days are spent on extensive game viewing drives.
DAYS 10, 11, 12 & 13: CHOBE NATIONAL PARK
We travel up to Savute and spend two nights camped next to the now dry Savute Channel. Depending on the time of year, great concentrations of wildlife are attracted to this area, and Savute is excellent for lion and other predator viewing. From Savute we move up to northern Chobe and camp in the Serondela area. This is the heart of elephant country and here we have an opportunity to spend many hours watching the huge herds in and around the waters of the Chobe River. Northern Chobe has beautiful scenery and magnificent sunsets, with a large variety of bird and other animal life.
DAY 14: VICTORIA FALLS
It's a short drive from Chobe to Victoria Falls, one of the world's most awe-inspiring sights. Our stay here is always welcomed as a chance to wash off Botswana's dust, relax over a cold beer, and enjoy the varied entertainment and facilities at Victoria Falls. Our entrance fee to the falls is included in our safari fare. Overnight accommodation is at The Kingdom Hotel in twin bedded rooms with private facilities.
DAY 15: VICTORIA FALLS
After breakfast at the Lodge the safari ends. END OF SAFARI

itinerary will depend on local conditions.
