Discovering Namibia is a rewarding experience. Venture into a world of changing scenery, contrasting unspoilt wilderness and numerous cultures with the cosmopolitan atmosphere of Windhoek and Swakopmund. We explore Namibia's attractions using a diverse itinerary, including the central area with the Namib Desert (Sesriem and Naukluft) and the northern area with the famous Etosha National Park and other regions not normally visited by ordinary tourists. The Oryx & Himba Safari is the perfect deluxe camping safari to explore Namibia.

DAY 1: WINDHOEK:
Windhoek, with its lingering heritage of German architecture, activities and atmosphere is a city which can be visited throughout the year. The day is spent at leisure. We meet our guide at the reception of the Hotel Safari (or similar) at +-18h00. Hotel or guesthouse on a bed and breakfast basis. Dinner and lunch are not included.

DAY 2: WATERBERG PLATEAU PARK
Namibia is a land of striking contrasts, and one of such contrasts is the Table Mountain of the Waterberg Plateau Park abruptly rising hundreds of metres above the surrounding plains.

DAY 3/4/5/6: ETOSHA NATIONAL PARK
This park is one of the most important reserves and game sanctuaries in Africa. The pan itself is a vast shallow depression 139km by 50km. Thousands of wild animals such as blue wildebeest, springbok, zebra, kudu, giraffe, cheetah, leopard, lion, elephant, etc. are attracted to the area. The birdlife is prolific with 326 recorded species. We relax around the swimming pool and enjoy early morning and afternoon game drives.

DAY 7/8: DAMARALAND
The Damaraland is a vast and rugged terrain. Its mountain ranges are intercepted by wide gravel plains which run into sandy, vegetated riverbeds and hot, dry valleys. We may be fortunate enough to see the rare desert elephant or the elusive black rhino. We enjoy the solitude and the remoteness of our secluded bush camp.

DAY 9: TWYFELFONTEIN, ROCK ENGRAVINGS
Twyfelfontein "Fountain of Doubt" has possibly the most spectacular collection of rock paintings and engravings in Africa.

DAY 10: SEAL COLONY - CAPE CROSS -  SWAKOPMUND
The large colony of Cape fur seals (about 80.000) at Cape Cross is a very impressive sight. Swakopmund, with its German colonial atmosphere is surrounded by the Namib Desert and has many buildings and houses dating back to the German colonial era. Accommodation in chalets. Excludes dinner and lunch.

DAY 11: THE RARE WELWITSCHIAS - MOON VALLEY - NAMIB DESERT
The Welwitschia is an unusual pre-historic plant, which is a dwarf tree flourishing on the moisture of the Atlantic Coast. Its lifespan is estimated at more than 1.000 years. Our camp in the desert under the bright stars of the Southern Hemisphere will create a lasting impression.

DAY 12/13/14: NAMIB DESERT - SESRIEM/ NAMIB NAUKLUFT PARK
Our journey takes us through the Namib Desert, the oldest desert on earth. The gigantic 275m high red and grey dunes are the highest in the world. Most of the 200 species plants that occur here depend on the mist from the Atlantic for survival. We continue on through the incredible scenery of the Naukluft Mountains. Several hiking trails following springs and rock pools allow us to visit this rugged area. The park has a diverse flora and an abundance of perennial water, a rich birdlife and a varied population of wild animals, particularly mountain zebras, baboons, leopards and rock hyrax.

DAY 15: WINDHOEK
We arrive in Windhoek in the early afternoon +-14h00.
