Breathtaking
coral reefs lie just off the coastline and their magnificent
display of colourful coral species, thousands of tropical fish
and mammals like whales and dolphins are waiting to be explored…
The archipelago consists of 31 lovely islands in the Quirimbas
Archipelago. Ibo is the most established island with a rich
history and can be visited from Matemo. From a major trading
post for slaves and ivory, Ibo became a significant Portuguese
town in the region and the remains of three forts, a cathedral
and numerous palatial homes make for interesting sightseeing.
The waters off the coast are home to coral reefs, sea turtles,
colourful tropical fish, dolphin, whales and the rare dugong.
This
package offers a combiantion of two idyllic lodges on two seperate
islands from where you can explore this tropical paradise, both
distinctly situated on remote islands and on the beach offering
activities that complements a tropical island getaway. An extra
night can be spent at Pemba Beach Lodge, situated on the main
land close to the town of Pemba.
