This tour of cultural discovery is ideal for the explorer whose interests lie in the country and its inhabitants. This tour incorporates 'must see' areas with traditional sightseeing, highlighting the exceptional cultural found in South Africa. This module travels from Cape Town and explores the culture of the early settlers and their descendants as well as the original inhabitants of this area, the Bushmen, throughout the scenic beauty of the Cape Province. This tour can be combined with the Cultural South Africa - The North tour for a full South African cultural experience.
Day
1
On arrival at Cape Town International Airport, you will be met
by a Safari Co. representative, handed your world-class documentation
pack and assisted to the Europcar rental counter to collect your
vehicle. Depart Cape Town and head inland for some of the oldest
and most historic towns in South Africa. Here you can explore
the culture of South Africa’s first settlers, the Huguenots
and the Dutch, as it is very much alive in many facets of daily
life. We suggest a visit to a few of our wine estates, farms and
orchards, which are open to the public.

Day 2
Today you have a full day to further enjoy your time in this scenic
and cultural jewel. We suggest a day trip to the Huguenot town
of Franschhoek, where evidence of these early settlers is still
very visible.

Day 3
This journey of discovery continues in a westerly direction to
the arid land bordering the cold waters of the Atlantic. You stay
at a game and cultural reserve, which focuses on the protection
of the traditions and lifestyle of the first inhabitants of the
Cape, the Bushmen. Experience this ancient culture first hand.

Day 4
A full day can be spent relaxing and exploring this area. Explore
the ways of the Bushmen, a worthwhile soul-searching experience.
Kagga Kamma offers luxurious accommodation and delicious cuisine.

Day 5
After breakfast travel further west along the coast back to Cape
Town or the International Airport. En route you will discover
the small fishing communities, which have not changed in hundreds
of years. You will arrive in the late afternoon.

RECOMMENDED CLOTHING: Light casual clothing is sufficient during
the day with smart casual dress recommended for evenings and dinner.
From May to September warm clothing will be required.
