We planned our first expedition to Lesotho with the intention to visit a different a destination every night (we were a bit pushed for time). Our plans changed when one of the expedition members cancelled and was replaced by a 4 and a 6 year old! This necessitated a slightly different itinerary as small kids don't do well on 8 hour a day 4x4 trails... So we decided to stick to one place and explore it in-depth. Sehlabathebe National Park was our destination and we loved every second of it. Lesotho is known as the 'Mountain Kingdom' and it sure offers more than enough adventure for any entrepid traveler! Explore the beauty of Lesotho...

please note:
Always pack for unforseen weather conditions. You might have sunny days all the way through your safari, but be prepared for rain or a cold spell by packing a light raincoat and a fleece jacket for the evenings. Comfortable walking shoes is a must. Get a pair of hiking boots if you're planning to do the Woody Cape 2 day hike in the Alexandria Forest. If not, then a good pair of trainers will work well for short walks and to keep your feet protected. Pack easy-to-wash, quick-dry clothes for your trip. It saves space as you don't have to pack so many sets of clothing.

It is very convenient to have your own car fridge/freezer handy for picnic stops, keeping the coldrink cold, and if you decide to pack meat for a lunch-stop braai. We have found the National Luna brand very reliable and the dual compartments made it easy to have frozen as well as cold stuff at all times. Remember to keep your batteries fully charged by using a battery management system. A nifty braai grid from Front Runner that fits over the spare wheel of our vehicle came in very handy!
