Nestled on 100ha in a secluded valley near Hazyview in Mpumalanga province 10km from the world famous Kruger National Park, Summerfields Rose Retreat comprises a lodge, spa and restaurant, set on Summerfields Rose Farm, famous for its export quality hybrid tea roses and macadamia nuts.

The River Lodge consists of 12 exclusive tented suites under a canopy of Jackal berry and Tambotie trees,– the sounds of cascading water, amplified by a choir of bird calls and the occasional snort of a hippo. Our staff are on hand to draw you a relaxing rose-scented bath before dinner. Each luxurious suite ensures total privacy whilst relaxing on the deck with views of the Sabie River, which runs to the Mozambique coastline.

Attention to detail is evident in every rose-variety suite, ensuring a memorable experience, with specially designed furniture, percale linen and the tantalizing fragrance of fresh cut roses from the farm. All units are air-conditioned with additional roof fans, have double vanities, an outdoor shower and a luxury bath, and are stocked with quality toiletries, and a private fridge for the comfort of guests.

We also have a self catering farm house available for guests with children or elderly guests.

There is also numerous alternative accommodation on and around the farm for the overflow of guest's accommodation.

Make your wedding ceremony and reception an unique and unforgettable experience of divine indulgence on the banks of the Sabie River. The elegantly styled venue together with the setting, family and friends will make this special day memorable for life, and if you are lucky, our resident hippo could be grunting you a blessing from the water.

Ceremonies are held on the River Frontage surrounded by the music of nature. An intimate reception could be held on the deck of the River Cafe (up to 40 people) or on the lawn next the banks of the Sabie River for up to 200 people. Alternatively you could use our Kitchen for parties up to 80 people.

We have a dedicated wedding planner and coordinator available to ensure that your special day is planned and executed exactly like you have dreamt it to be.

Our wedding menus range from buffet 3 course meals, to plated gourmet meals prepared by our internationally trained chefs and include welcome drinks and a selection of post ceremony canapés served by roaming waiters on the banks of the Sabie River.

Summerfields also caters for small conferences, team building getaways, company incentives, birthday parties and wine tastings.

Guests are pampered to aromatherapy, reflexology, hand, foot and scalp massages, facial treatments, full body exfoliations and wraps as well as manicures and pedicures. The Summerfields signature treatment includes a steam pack shower, followed by a macadamia exfoliation, a Vichy shower and a rose oil massage. In between treatments guests can enjoy fresh, tasty and healthy meals and drinks at the pool deck, prepared by Summerfields Kitchen.
